Lasting Legends: Top 10 Celebrity Men of the Moment

Here at Q&L we want to take the time to celebrate the top 10 celebrity men of the moment this International Men’s Day.

We know there are plenty more to choose from, but we think these gentlemen are what we’re about – fashion forward dapper dressers at the height of their careers.

Think a mixture of musical geniuses to colour blocking actors, to those more alternative dressers that get the crowd talking. And we’re not forgetting you of course, our dedicated Q&L customers who take debonair to the next level.

Keep reading to find out who we chose as our best dressed celebrity males of the moment.

Robert De Niro

With The Irishman hitting our TV screens shortly Robert De Niro has been the hit man of the moment… literally. With a lifetime of classic Hollywood films behind him, at 76 years old De Niro is a classic gentleman always at the top of his game. He attended the premiere of The Irishman in a very understated suit, with a blue shirt and textured tie – exactly what we’d expect from a sophisticated gent who has attended many premieres throughout his career. Although, in his spare time Mr De Niro prefers to dress with comfort in mind and quite frankly probably doesn’t care what others think – possibly, the main reason why he does very few interviews.

David Beckham

A huge influence in the fashion industry, David Beckham just never gets it wrong… or shall we throw it back to the noughties with braided hair and matching Posh and Becks outfits? With that said since the ex-pro-footballer has aged, we think his style has vastly improved. From casual set ups to being suited and booted, Beckham’s fashion sense is somewhat effortless with classic cuts and colours being his main approach – he does dapple in a patterned tie here and there too. But what Becks is best at is not chopping and changing his style, but his hair. Switching your grooming techniques can instantly change up your look.

Harry Styles

From the biggest boy band in the world to being his own front man, Harry Styles seems to have found his niche style in this fashion forward world. With huge inspiration from Bowie and Prince, Styles doesn’t shy away from a pussy bow blouse or a high heeled boot… shoes are his favourite might we add (if he see’s this we’ll send him a pair). With his new single hitting the charts recently, the Lights Up singer is only getting stronger in his career and further away from boy band music than you could ever imagine. We’re loving his quirky style with omen to some of music’s greatest legends and did you know he has a refrigerated vault for all of his clothes? Now that’s a man who is serious about fashion.

David Gandy

From the word go, David Gandy was a style icon for many gents who fit into the ‘tall, dark and handsome’ category. With a number of magazine covers to his name and invitations to all of the latest, trending events, Gandy can wear just about anything and be one of the top dressed gents in the UK, if not globally. Did we also mention he is a huge car aficionado? Most recently Gandy was pictured at the first ever Saville Row Christmas switch on with a number of familiar dapper faces – an event that sounds right up our street. There’s always next year! Through the gifting and advertising, Gandy seems a very genuine gent in the chaos world of fashion.

Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves proves that you can never go wrong with all black everything, time and time again. At many film premieres Reeves has arrived with slick back long hair, a black suit, shirt and even the tie  though sometimes he does jazz it up a little with a brown pair of shoes. A slightly rough and ready take on the gentlemanly style, Reeves has recently walked the red carpet for the first time with his lady at hand – sometimes the private life is a happy life for these gents. It has also recently been confirmed that Reeves will return for The Matrix 4, a very swarve look indeed but we'd probably lose the skinny shades. Here’s a thought, maybe his on-screen style influences his wardrobe at home? Whichever it is, going all black is never a bad look.

Jason Mamoa

Taking the 2019 fashion world by storm with pink being his most prominent colour, Jason Mamoa started off his career in what some called homeless attire. There’s no doubt Mamoa does whatever he wants when it comes to style but we’re glad to see he now understands the beauty in dapper dressing (still featuring the occasional quirky hat and Hawaiian beads of course). With the new Batman movie underway Mamoa has been cast alongside step-daughter Zoe Kravitz, but, his favourite love of all  alongside wife Lisa Bonnet – is the scrunchie. Mamoa is never seen without it on his wrist and we’re thinking come 2020, it’s going to be the most loved accessory for all males with longer hair. You heard it here first!

Donald Glover

With alter egos depending on his career role, Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino is a fashion master in the making. Definitely one for the more alternative dressers, Glover takes inspiration from the 70s and 80s with colour blocking and finer details in mind – think contrasting wide lapels, pinched hems and of course room for a chain or two. Making his mark on various parts of the entertainment industry the Childish Gambino singer definitely doesn’t take his style too seriously, or maybe he does for that matter hence why he stands out so much. With a penchant for a pair of loafers (worn sockless) Glover also has a few other themes that he follows when dressing, including never wearing a tie. How’s that for a gentlemanly approach?

Jeff Goldblum

Jeff Goldblum has been on our screens for some time now starring in some of the highest-grossing films. Recently, he also released his latest jazz album with his band The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra which features some of the biggest names in the music industry. Heavily influenced by Jazz culture Mr Goldblum’s style is very eccentric at times but he pulls it off rather well and shows that with age style can progress. Favouring patterns and prints of many, terrific textures and of course hats, Jeff Goldblum ceases to amaze us with his quirky styling. Where would he be without those signature thick rimmed spectacles? Proving that style has no limits when it comes to age, Jeff Goldblum is definitely at the top of our list for one of the best dressed men of the moment.

John Legend

A master of menswear and now People magazine’s sexiest man alive (what do we think about this one gents?), it’s safe to say John Legend knows how to work a suit and colour. As a huge wearer of pastels Legend also works textures and patterns of many and is usually seen sporting the open collar look or a t-shirt under a suit for a more casual approach. With EGOT status (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and a Tony), it’s clear through Legend’s social media that he is a huge family man, and the on-going humour between himself and his wife, Chrissy Teigan is what makes them one of the world’s favourite celebrity couples. So, take note gentleman if you want to impress like Legend does.

Timothee Chalamet

Timothee Chalamet has been labelled the most stylish man of the millennial era. Although he didn’t start out as well, after his appearance in Call Me by Your Name everything changed and the youngster leaped into the world of gentlemanly designer goods. From his Golden Globes look where he wore a sequined harness over his shirt, to his most recent stint at the premiere of his new movie, The King – again sporting sequins but this time on a hoodie – it’s clear Chalamet’s style is of the unconventional. From neon turtle necks, to a full silver suit set up Chalamet continues to challenge the stereotypical traits of a male’s wardrobe. He’s definitely one to watch.

So, there you have it our top 10 celebrity men of the moment for International Men’s Day 2019. It just goes to show how much style is evolving and how men are working with materials, textures and patterns more than ever without losing their gentlemanly heritage.
