Brand Spotlight: Loake

It’s been 130 years since Loake shoes were developed, and today the brand is still known for its craftsmanship of fine, handmade, gentleman’s shoes.

Set up at home by brothers Thomas, John and William Loake in 1880, the company has gone from strength to strength by developing new styles of shoes and boots, alongside their most famous creation – the Goodyear welted shoes.

This style of shoe is made from the finest quality material and highest shoemaking techniques which can take around 8 weeks to develop. The process to create this style of English footwear hasn’t changed for over 300 years and to this day Loake produce theirs in the same factory the brothers built in 1894 in Wood Street, Kettering.

Although the Goodyear welted shoes are still popular today, times change and techniques and designs develop as the years go on. Alongside the traditional collection, Loake offer a wide range of gentleman’s shoes from chukka boots to loafers, boat shoes and brogues which all offer that sense of heritage.

Whether your fashion sense is casual or formal, a gentleman who wears Loake will be at the height of his career and take pride in his appearance. Developing a relationship with your wardrobe shows dedication to yourself and how you want to be seen by others - let Loake shoes be part of that journey.
